Lesson Plan

Though I experienced what I would consider to be a major panic attack this week, I really enjoyed the lesson I had prepared for Individuality module. I chose the American Pop- Artist Wayne Thiebaud. We all had great fun over the two days. I got a digital camera for the class recently and I gave the girls free reign taking the photos. They did a smashing job in fairness. I was full sure there'd be murder with turn taking etc. but they organised a system themselves. Here's a few examples of the process and product.

A Shindig??

MA buddies,
Thinking of having a big of a get together chez moi ( Sth Douglas Rd) on the 29th May. Few nibbles and a cup of scald? Any takers. Nil motivation this week and the mountain of work is like Kilimanjaro!

Wayne Thiebaud

I love Thiebaud's work. A product of the American Pop Art movement, Thiebaud works primarily with cakes and other foods. I'm going to use Thiebaud's work as a stimulus for the Creative Lesson for Janet's class. I think his images are really child friendly. The cupcake is very much in vogue at the moment also.

The Princess Bride

The Princess Bride is my all time favourite movie. I know a good share of it off by heart. Haigh, is mise Inigio Montoya, mhairigh tú m'athair, bí réidh chun bás a fháil!!

My Nana

I visited my nana today. Beatrice Daly is 96 years old and is a bit of a legend. I hate not getting down to see her as much as I'd like. Up until recently enough she was very active, she was driving until her mid eighties! A fall, and a broken hip has clipped her wings a bit which is a pity. Nana has so many photos and so many stories. Even though she's getting a bit forgetful of late, she can still spin some great tales. I love being in her house, just behind Siamsa Tíre in Tralee town. She has the oldest clapped out TV ever, with perfect reception! She has an out of tune piano, that serves more as a shelf. Nana had a dresser with fabulous silverware. Santa presents used to be stored on top of this dresser when we were small. There are beautiful bluebells in her garden. I remember those same bluebells from when we used play out the back as children

Are polls a bit boring?
